E911 operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This division consists of four 12-hour shifts that operate 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. Fully staffed, the Communications Center consists of a Lieutenant, Sergeant, Communications Training Officer and 4 Communication Officers per shift. The E911 Division handles communications for Bartow County Sheriff's Office, all law enforcement municipalities within the county, City and County Fire Departments, and Emergency Medical Services.
The Communication Officers are trained to assist callers with their individual request for law enforcement, fire and medical assistance. This is achieved by receiving certifications in Basic Communications through Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training, CPR, Emergency Medical Dispatch, Georgia Crime Information Center, National Incident Management System, six-month program implemented in the E911 Center and continuing education as required/needed.
